What is Kraft and Why is it So Popular?

In the 1880s, German chemist Carl F. Dahl applied an unprecedented method by adding some chemicals (sulfate) to wood cellulose, thereby significantly increasing the strength of paper. He named this method the “kraft process,” inspired by the German word for strength, “kraft.” In short, we owe the brown kraft coils, which are the main material of today’s practical, sturdy, and extremely presentable packaging products, to this invention by Carl F. Dahl.

Since then, hundreds of different products have been designed and manufactured from kraft paper; handle shopping bags commonly used in retail stores, corrugated kraft boxes, packaging papers, and food packaging have been produced.

Especially in recent years, we have achieved highly attractive kraft products with chic and eye-catching patterns and designs, thanks to rapidly developing printing technologies.

Besides its sturdiness, being 100% eco-friendly is why kraft paper is used as a packaging, preservation, and wrapping material in many areas such as the packaging and food industry. The main characteristics of kraft paper are:

  • • It is durable. • It is recyclable. • It is water-resistant. • It is moisture-resistant. • It is cost-effective. • It is used in both the food and packaging sectors. • Natural kraft packaging has a unique warm and nostalgic appearance.

Our Most Preferred Kraft Product

Kraft Bags

Automation kraft bags produced entirely by automatic machines without manual labor have entered almost all sectors in recent years compared to plastic bags, thanks to their eco-friendly nature and price advantage, thereby significantly increasing their consumption.

With their low cost, superior print quality, stylish design, durability, and quality, these automation bags are widely used in industries such as retail clothing, shoes, gifts, cosmetics, and food. You can customize these bags for your company by printing logos with different designs on them, thus increasing your brand awareness.

All our papers produced from FSC certified papers are 100% recyclable.

Naturel Kraft

These bags, generally produced using natural (brown) kraft paper in the range of 80-120gr, stand out with their high carrying capacity, durability, and quality, besides being recycled and 100% recyclable.

The bags we encounter most frequently in daily life have either brown inner and outer surfaces or brown insides with differently colored exteriors obtained by painting the base.

There is a slight price advantage compared to the white kraft alternative.

It is useful to know that natural kraft bags may cause a loss of 15-20% in the actual colors during printing, as they tend to make the colors on them appear somewhat more matte and faded compared to white kraft bags.

White Kraft

Bags in this group are generally made from 90-120gr white kraft paper (and are 100% recyclable). Their carrying capacities and durability are top-notch.

Both the inside and the outside of the paper are white, and different colors are obtained by painting the exterior (base) later.

When printed, the colors on white kraft bags appear more vivid compared to natural kraft bags.
